As a reminder, the SMP subcommittee votes on recommendations to the full Olympia Planning Commission. When those in attendance agree on the recommendation, it’s essentially placed on a consent calendar that the full commission approves. When there is not consensus, the full commission votes on the divergent views to determine which are forwarded to the city council for ultimate adoption.
If you’ve attended any of these meetings, you’ll find it remarkable how much simpler it is said than done.
